If I look back, I have been writing my whole life - stories, poems, many journals. But it was a relationship in 2001 and a trip across the country with my dog that allowed me to see myself as a writer. Both of these experiences profoundly changed my life.

What amazes me most is that which is hidden; the things about people we don't necessarily see. Highlighting the extraordinary in seemingly ordinary people, and providing others with the opportunity to see more, intrigues me.

Some of us are storytellers.

Some of us are the midwives that bring others' stories to life or help shape them. I am fortunate to be both a writer and an editor.

Nothing inspires me more than capturing the essence of a person or an issue in a way that speaks to your heart.

It's not just what I do; it's who I am.
